S.P.G.A.

The GMI Single Point Gas Alarm is a new state of the art fixed, gas monitoring alarm. Designed for permanent installation, the unit is able to monitor for flammable gas, toxic gas or oxygen deficiency in a variety of applications.

These applications include gas leak detection in
  • boiler rooms
  • water treatment plants
  • power stations
  • buildings
  • landfill sites

The Single Point Gas Alarm can be flush, panel or surface mounted, which assists the installation process in different applications where space restrictions might normally make the installation of such units difficult. The Control Panel Enclosure is constructed from sheet steel for robustness and is water and dust resistant to IP54 standards. It is a key lockable front panel that offers security to the internal workings of the unit hence only allowing access to authorised personnel. Pre-formed knockouts further assist the installation process.

Within the unit Surface Mount technology is employed to manufacture the electronic boards giving unsurpassed reliability. It also allows the unit to be made compact in terms of both width and depth yet retain a comprehensive specification. A backlit LCD display clearly shows gas type, gas level, alarm settings and sensor location. Solid state panel indicators show Low Alarm, High Alarm, Power On and Fault Conditions. The single gas channel has 2 user adjustable alarm levels which can be set to operate with a rising or falling signal from the remote detector.

Calibration is performed via a hand-held device called an Active-8-or (also used in the larger 8 channel system, the Active-8). The unit offers a delayed calibration facility which allows the engineer to apply calibration gas to a remote the head, permitting practical one-man calibration. The GMI Single Point Gas Alarm can also be configured with an internal battery back-up and analogue outputs to interface to other equipment. The system will operate from 24v DC or mains.
